The Walk is a personal faith app. It doesn't sell your data, doesn't track you, and doesn't share your information with advertisers. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how it's handled.
We collect only what's necessary to make the app work.
Used to create and access your account. You enter your email, we send a one-time code, and that's your sign-in. Nothing else is collected at sign-up.
Your people list and notification preferences are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. They never leave your phone and are not transmitted to any server.
Your email address is used for authentication and to occasionally reach out with meaningful updates about The Walk. This may include new features, app announcements, or a personal note to check in with how you're doing on your walk.
We don't send spam and we will never sell or share your address with anyone. If you'd prefer not to receive these messages, reply to any email and let us know — we'll remove you right away, no questions asked.
The Walk uses Supabase to handle authentication. When you sign in, your email address is stored securely in Supabase's systems. Supabase is a GDPR-compliant platform and processes your data solely on behalf of The Walk. You can review Supabase's privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy.
We use no advertising networks, analytics platforms, or data brokers. We do not sell or share your information with any third parties for commercial purposes.
Your account and email address are retained for as long as your account is active. If you would like your account and data permanently deleted, contact us at the address below and we will remove it within 30 days.
On-device data (your people list, notification settings) is erased when you uninstall the app or clear your device's app data.
You have the following rights regarding your personal information:
You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you at any time.
If any information we hold about you is inaccurate, you can ask us to update or correct it.
You can request that we delete your account and all personal data associated with it. We will do so within 30 days.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days and will never charge a fee for these requests.
The Walk is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including using Supabase's secure, encrypted infrastructure for authentication data. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and your use of the app is at your own risk.
You are responsible for keeping your device and account secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of those changes.
